Richard attended Almondson High School in Chicago where he was a celebrated athlete playing football and baseball. He attended Wright Junior College and then enlisted in the Army. He loved sports — playing, coaching, and watching. He spent many years coaching his sons little league basketball and baseball teams. He was a big Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan. He enthusiastically embraced his age, participating in the Senior Olympics softball team.
Richard will be fondly remembered for his smile and easy-going spirit. He will be terribly missed by family and friends. Richard’s wishes were to be cremated and have a celebration of life. Bolger Funeral Home will be assisting the family, www.bolgerfuneral.com for online condolences.
