On Thursday, June 23, 2023 Marjorie Dohr Palmer was peacefully called home to eternal life at the age of 93.
Marge was born on November 25, 1929 in Appleton, the youngest of nine children of the late Joseph and Alma (Flesch) Dohr. She cherished her summers at the family cottage with her siblings, and loved school. Marjorie was a proud Mount Mary College graduate who went on to work as a medical technologist at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee for her entire 35 year career. In December of 1958 she married John (Jack) Palmer. The couple lived and raised their family in Shorewood, until their retirement in 1992. In retirement Marge and Jack embraced the “Northwoods life” in Boulder Junction, where she was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and an enthusiastic library volunteer.
Marge is the last of her siblings to pass away and was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her youngest daughter TC/Therese Stover (Dale). Marjorie is survived by three children, Eileen, Mike and Patrick (Lauran), seven grandchildren, Chris, Megan (Ned Willig), Jack, Christie, Katie, Matt and Emily and one great-grandson, Marvin. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her beloved family and friends were the joy of her life. Marge’s family offers its sincerest appreciation to Compassus Hospice Care for their compassionate care in her final days. Reverend Showri Jojappa Pasala. (Father Joseph) will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Boulder Junction. Family and friends may visit with her family at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. All are invited to attend a celebration of life luncheon to follow the Mass in the church community room.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable contribution in Marge’s memory to Friends of the Boulder Junction Public Library and St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
