Carroll Gene Jones
Carroll was born in Windsor, Ill. on April 22, 1931, to Eugene A. and Pauline E. (Janes) Jones. He was raised in Windsor, Ill. and Mattoon, Ill. He was united in marriage to Katherine May Fairchild on May 4, 1947, in Missouri. At the age of eighteen, Carroll began his employment with Moline Malleable Iron Company in St. Charles, Ill. He was employed at the factory for over forty years, retiring at the age of fifty-eight. Upon retiring, Carroll and Katherine moved to Vilas County.
In his younger years, he participated on a bowling league. Carroll enjoyed golfing, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bird watching and traveling to Florida with Katherine in the winter months.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Katherine, children, Sharon (Michael) Bock of Spring, Texas, Terry (Maureen) Jones of Vilas County, Dan (Bernie) Jones of Mesquite, Nev. and Carla (Jerry) Pierce of Channahon, Ill., 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ron (Peg) Jones of Florida and Don (Paulette) Jones of Florida and by one sister, Judy Jones of Yorkville, Ill.. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Gary Jones.
Graveside services will be private.
Interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Pines in Boulder Junction.
