Jeanne’s involvement with her community at Church of the Pines and One Penny Place, along with decades of hosting family and friends at Lake Seventeen, made her well-loved across her Northwoods home. Jeanne was on a church committee either as a leader or member continuously for over 25 years. Her lifetime of work with the Campanile Center for the Arts in Minocqua prompted the creation of a new award, The Jeanne Heck Volunteer of the Year Award, which she was honored to receive in June. She prioritized fun whenever she could and was the matriarch of a large family who adored her, even when she had to have the last word.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Dan Heck Sr. and her daughter Patty Comber. She is survived by her two sons Jim Heck and Dan Heck Jr., two daughters-in-law Kathleen Morgan and Peggy St. John-Heck, and five grandchildren: Bill, Elizabeth, Brad, Tim and Sarah. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
