Dale N. Grober
Dale was born in Milwaukee December 12, 1930, son of the late Edwin and Norma Grober. Brother to Carol (Bob) Nadeau, and the late Donald (Dorothy) Grober and the late Daryl (Nancy) Grober.
Dale served in the Army during the Korean War where he was awarded a bronze star and two silver stars. After the war he returned to Glendale, married Kay, started his trucking company D.N. Grober Services and his family. In addition to his business, he served as an alderman for the city of Glendale for 17 years. He sold his business to his son and started Globe Contractors, a sewer and water construction company with Ramon Olson.
Dale and Kay enjoyed being at White Sand Lake and eventually built a permanent home there next to lifelong friends Bob and Carol Gieringer. Dale was a private pilot and shared his love of flying the airplane with his daughter Sue. Many Friday evenings you could hear the roar of that engine as he buzzed over the lake announcing his arrival.
Dale loved trucks, equipment, working and being busy. He sold equipment for Aring, and in his retirement, he enjoyed buying and selling equipment with Scott, his friend, owner of Scott’s Northwoods Diesel. He also enjoyed diagnosing and repairing things with his friend Sparky.
For the last forty plus years when he wasn’t in the Northwoods or working, you could find Dale, his son Ed, and a group of wonderful friends at the coffee shop solving the world’s problems.
He loved life, family, friends, snowmobiling, waterskiing, entertaining his grandchildren and watching westerns. Taking the family out for dinner at his favorite restaurants such as Fibbers in St. Germain gave him much joy.
A hardworking man full of integrity, he had many successful endeavors and even more lasting friendships. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all as he makes his final flight.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, on Sunday Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon. A celebration of life at noon. Burial will be held privately at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
