Larry loved God, his country, and his wife.
He served his country during the Vietnam Era and was in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles.
He worked at different group homes for several years in Milwaukee, owned by Dr. James and John Balistreri as head of maintenance for juvenile and autistic children. He also was in charge of “Project Aware” for the juveniles and their parents.
Larry met the love of his life, Donna, in June of 1982 at Polish Fest in Milwaukee and married her on June 7, 1986.
They both moved to Mercer in 1990. He became employed at Action Floors in 1999 as lead man on the stacker. He worked there until November of 2012, when he retired.
He loved hunting, fishing and walking his dogs, Spyke, Inki, and Shadow for long walks in the woods. He also enjoyed talking to people and telling them about past world history and philosophies of life. He would drop everything, day or night, to help family, friend, or stranger.
Larry’s battle with cancer started in February 2013 with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and ended in September 2022 with myeloma cancer.
Larry is survived by his wife, Donna; his nephew, Kevin Grabowski; and his family and several cousins.
Hildebrand Funeral Home is handling the cremation.
