Shirley Sicker


Shirley Sicker (Smith), 75, of Minocqua, passed away on October 26, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston.
Shirley was born on January 6, 1947, to the late Vernon and Louise (Gerhke) Smith. She graduated from Wauwatosa East, class of 1965. She earned her LPN from UW-Oshkosh. She worked in the Minocqua area at Dr. Kates, Howard Young Medical Center, Lakeland Medical Association and Marshfield Clinic. Shirley enjoyed relaxing with a good book and soaking in the sunshine, pontoon rides and trips to Florida and Alabama. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 
Shirley married her love, Gary Sickler, on May 15, 1968, and celebrated 54 years of marriage together. Shirley is survived by her husband Gary; children, Jason (Nicole) Sickler and Jennifer (Joshua) Freidel; grandchildren, John and Taylor Freidel and Andrew Sickler.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Louise Smith; her son, Joseph Sickler; brother-in-law David Sickler; in-laws Esther and Lester Sickler; along with many other aunts, uncles and extended family.
The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Minocqua Marshfield Medical Center and the Weston Marshfield Medical Center.
A visitation and service was held on Nov. 3 at Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation Services in Woodruff with an Internment at Ascension Lutheran Church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to Ascension Lutheran Church in Minocqua.
