Michael J. “Mikey” Coan

Michael J. “Mikey” Coan, 61, a resident of Manitowish Waters, passed away on November 1, 2022. He was born September 20, 1961, in Chicago, to Donald and Marion Coan.
Mike attended Lakeland Union High School. He owned and operated Mike Coans Plumbing. Michael was involved with the Manitowish Waters Sno-Skeeters. He enjoyed classic cars, pontooning, snowmobiling, family and traveling (especially road trips with family).
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Donald E. and Marion A. Coan. He is survived by his siblings: Mary Ellen (Bob) Duranso, Don (Sandy) Coan, Margaret Humann, John (Connie) Coan, Kathleen (Dennis) Lerch, Bridget (Matt) Coan and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Mike very much.
Mike had a special friendship with everyone he met, many he considered family. He always had a smile on his face. He worked hard and enjoyed life to the fullest. These are the memories we will keep with us forever.
A memorial gathering for Mike will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a celebration of life for Mike on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manitowish Waters Community Center. 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Manitowish Waters Fire Company and EMS on behalf of Michael are appreciated by the family.
