Joelen led a simple life and was always very cheerful, happy, and very sociable with her friends. She was born in Milwaukee September 27, 1943. She worked previously at Milwaukee Motive Inc and the YMCA in Milwaukee. She went to St. Francis Grade School and Bay View High School also in Milwaukee.
Joelen loved making puzzles, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, and listening to country music. She was a huge Alan Jackson fan and belonged to his fan club. She also enjoyed her pet cats and watched many cowboy shows and movies constantly on her TV when she wasn’t sitting outside enjoying the sunshine.
Joelen is survived by her brother: Waldemar Jr. “Wally” (Kathy) Obermann; sister: Marianne Small (nee Obermann); nephews: Patrick Small, Gerald (Jill) Posto, Frank Posto; nieces: Dawn and Michele Obermann, Sara Decker; niece-in-law: Terry Posto and great niece Alaina Michalski.
She was preceded in death by parents: Waldemar Sr and Helen Obermann (nee Effertz); sister: Virginia Posto (nee Obermann); brothers-in-law: Leonard Posto Sr and Robert Small; niece: Christine Obermann and nephews: Leonard Posto Jr and Keith Posto.
A graveside service will take place on Nov. 14 at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek at 1 p.m.
