He spent much of his childhood years in Okinawa, Japan and Alamogordo, N.M. before moving to the Northwoods in 1974. He worked several years for Tri-State Homes, Cleveland Masonry and Lee and Winter Construction before the operation of his own construction business, Dan Martin Construction.
Danny loved being outdoors, especially ATVing with family and friends, he was always ready to fleece an unsuspecting soul in a game of Blitz, and he was fascinated by astronomy looking forward to the James Webb telescope images. He enjoyed splitting wood, a great bonfire, camping and target practicing at the shooting range. He loved everything the Northwoods had to offer.
Danny is survived by his wife Mary Jacobi-Martin, son Trevin (Sarah) Martin, stepdaughter Shannon (Chad ) Wiesendanger; granddaughters Kaelyn and Kylie Martin; sister Pam Jacobi, brothers Robert (Diane) Martin, Dennis (Norine) Martin; brothers-in-law Allan Jacobi, Robert (Terri) Jacobi, Brian Jacobi, sisters-in-law Jane (Dick) Wegner, Jane Jacobi; nieces and nephews, Krista Carper, Stephen Martin, Brandon (Melissa) Wegner, Tory (John) Hendrix, Mercedes Jacobi, Cierra (Jon) Tullberg, and cherished pets Morgan and Tigger AKA Big Kitty.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Patricia Martin and his brother-in-law Mike Jacobi.
The celebration of life for Danny will be held at the Martin residence on Saturday, Sept. 24, time to be determined. A reminder announcement will be posted in the Sept. 9 edition of The Lakeland Times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Forest County Humane Society or any humane society of your choice.
