Vivian L. Hunt (nee Kassien) passed away peacefully at the age of 92 surrounded by family. She was born on the Manitowish River in Boulder Junction at the paternal family homestead. Vivian and her mother, Evelyn bought and ran the Pinecone Restaurant and Motel in 1953 and continued to do so until 1971, where they then changed it to the Pinecone Dress Shop. In 1963, Vivian and Chauncey, her husband, built Hunt’s Laundromat. Vivian retired in 1995. She devoted her time to gardening and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Evelyn Kassien; husband, Chauncey L. Hunt; daughter, Cathie (nee Walker) Rhinehart; son-in-law, Mykl Hensley; sisters, Marion (nee Kassien) Walker and Carolyn (nee Kassien) Thrall. Vivian is survived by her children, Scott A. Hunt (Lynne Duman), Randy Hunt, Jim (Ann) Hunt and Joni (nee Walker) (John) Vehrs; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Milestone and Aspirus Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
