Jon G. Mundy
He was born on November 15, 1940 in Chicago. Jon joined the U.S. Navy in November 1957. Jon served as a master chief and master diver in the U.S. Navy. He retired in June 1989 in Norfolk, Va. He was a lifer, serving his country for 32 years. Jon enjoyed his long-term friendships, new friendships, and involvement in the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, especially the Canadian fishing trips with his family.
Jon is survived by his wife, Carla, his daughters, Lisa Aliff, Jonmarie Huffman, and Dorothy Mundy, his grandchildren, Ryan Huffman, Robin Huffman, Kayla Mundy, and Lisa Driver, great-granddaughter, Miranda Grace Huffman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Claudia Mundy.
A memorial service will be held March 5 at the Bolger Woodruff Chapel, 1212 First Avenue, Woodruff. Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m., and services start at 1 p.m. The services will include masonic and military honors. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Island City #330, Masonic Lodge Scholarship Program or Mark V Monument Project Scholarship, 4438 Brock Forest Drive, Panama City, FL 32404.
