Norma earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree from Cornell University where she met her husband Eugene Hayman of 60+ years. They lived in Old Lyme, Conn., Watertown, N.Y., finally settling in Mequon. In the 1960s they purchased a lakeside vacation home near Minocqua, where the family enjoyed skiing in the winter and water-sports in the summer. Norma was passionate about animals, always surrounded by dogs and cats, volunteering frequently at the Wisconsin Humane Society. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, curling at the Milwaukee Curling Club and attending performances of classical music with her husband.
She is survived by her sons G. Thomas of Mequon and Michael (Wendy) of Minocqua, grandchildren Chase and Cierra Hayman, nieces Carol (John) and Jane, grand-nieces and special friend Patricia Bruno.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lawson, her husband and her niece Cathryn.
A celebration of life is planned for spring.
