Roland T. La Barge, Sr., 80, of Lac du Flambeau, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 30, 2022. He was born on September 22, 1941 in Hayward, the son of Augustine and Carrie (nee Sturdevant) La Barge, Sr. Roland was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was well known and loved in the community and will be greatly missed. Roland had a passion for spending time with his family and for gambling after retirement. He is preceded in death by his loving companion of 55 years, 38 of which they were married, Charlotte (nee Austin) La Barge; daughters, Kimberly and Kristy; his parents, Augustine Sr. and Carrie La Barge and brothers and sisters, Loretta “Komis”, Irene “Mickey”, Augustine Jr. “Gus”, Douglas “Bing” and Sally. He is survived by his children, Lisa (Arch), Cheryl, Tommy (Jen), Timothy (Toni), Tony (Maria), Douglas, Roland Jr. (Katlynn) and Jason (Mandy); 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Roland is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Multi-Purpose Building in Lac du Flambeau. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau, with military honors and burial to follow at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau.
