Jacob “Jake” Paul Kozey, 34 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 6 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Jake was born on November 28, 1987 in Marshfield, the son of Gerry and Connie Kozey. Jake graduated from Lakeland Union High School and attended Nicolet Technical College and was a Journeyman Plumber before becoming the proud and dedicated owner of Kozey Crane and Dock, LLC.
Jake married Brittany Hazard on Sept. 5, 2020, on their beloved Lake Minocqua. Jake was never idle, he loved hunting, boating, raising chickens, peacocks, and other fowl. He was a “Jake” of all trades; always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. Jake loved his family dearly and was always living life to the fullest.
Jake is survived by his wife Brittany Kozey and daughters nine-year-old Isla Kozey and one-year-old Leah Kozey; by his parents Gerry and Connie Kozey and by his sisters Breann (Michael) Kozey and Morgan (Heath) Weissenberger; by his grandmother Elsie Kozey; and by his beloved dogs Moose and Buck; by mother and father in laws Danella (Mark) Friday and Cary (Carrie) Hazard; by sister and brother in laws Brandie (Dustin) Buchanan and Austin Hazard; and by too many close friends and relatives to mention.
Jake was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Paul Kozey and maternal grandparents Gerald and Beverly Amann.
Celebration of life services for Jake will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Friday residence, 8355 Doctor Pink Drive, Minocqua, WI 54548.
