M. Dianne Hagman, 86, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center.
Mildred Dianne Hagman was born on June 16, 1935, in Wauwatosa, to Charles C. and Mildred E. (Dustrude) Erasmus. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She was united in marriage to Dr. Jerome J. “Jerry” Hagman on February 1, 1958, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Wauwatosa.
Dianne loved the water. She spent much of her younger years sailing on Lake Pewaukee and zipping around on their Chris Craft boat. This same passion for water was realized when she and Jerry moved to their Madeline Lake home in the Minocqua/Woodruff area. We all loved making our trips “Up North”, and she loved having family and friends visit.
Dianne also modeled for the Gimbel’s store in Milwaukee, was a member of the Lioness Club, and she helped with Girl Scouts. She was the best cheerleader for everything.
Dianne loved the holidays. She also loved wearing the holidays. There was never a shortage of holiday inspired outfits ranging from the flag bearing 4th of July to the infamous Christmas sweaters. Dianne will be missed in so many ways, one of which was her love for her family. Conversations naturally focused on her family and what they were doing and when the next visit would be. This was evident for her love of pictures, collages, framed art and boxes upon boxes of prints.
Her family and friends were blessed to reap the talents of Dianne through her quilting, knitting, cross-stitch, and well ... many other crafting ideas that she shared. She donated many hours of her knitting to provide prayer shawls to the nearby congregation in Woodruff. Her love of friends inspired a group of her Madeline Lake neighbors to coin themselves the “Mad Gabs” as they performed their crafts and shared the latest dessert recipes.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry, and their children, Charles F. (Jill) Hagman of Marshfield and Maureen E. (Russell) Lewis of Hudson, and six grandchildren. Jerome “JJ” Verch, Sarah Engels, Benjamin Lewis, Margaret Lewis, Shannon Hagman, and Elise Hagman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Engels.
