Ina was born June 18, 1932 in Iron Mountain, Mich., the only child of Clarence D. and Agnes M. Lyons.
She grew up in Woodruff where Clarence owned a small store on Highway 51 (now Lori’s Flower Cottage).
Growing up Ina worked at Schilling’s Drug Store, Kelly’s Diner and ushered at the Woodruff Theater.
On June 2, 1951, Ina married the love of her life, Milton C. Jensen, at the Minocqua Church of the Pines.
Together they bought and operated the Island City Dray Line. Their first two children were Dr. Kate babies.
Milt learned to fly from Noble Lee at the old Minocqua airport and they moved to Milwaukee to follow Milt’s aviation career and then on to Zion, Ill., finally settling in Beach Park, Ill. in 1980 where they remained until the time of their passing.
Ina was Milt’s indispensable partner throughout his career as an airline pilot and when he served as mayor of Zion and later Beach Park.
The family always returned to vacation in Woodruff where Milt and Ina had so many friends, family and memories.
Ina treasured time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whether it was in her home, on camping trips or playing a tune on any instrument you put into her hands.
Her positive and nurturing spirit will be greatly missed.
Ina is survived by her six children, Don (Sue), Rich (Cindy), Phil (Sandy), Julie Gonka (Dennis), Liane Kaiser (Frank) and Connie Gill (Paul); 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ina was preceded in death by her son Glenn. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 13, in Zion, Ill. with interment alongside Milt at the Benton-Greenwood Cemetery.
