David Charles Wolfe

David (Dave) passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 11 after a brief, non-coronavirus related illness at Paducah Mercy Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Dave was born to the late Raymond and Joan (Kurth) Wolfe on April 23, 1952 in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Dave graduated in 1970 from D.C. Everest High School in Schofield. While in high school, he was a member of the Evergreens wrestling team and served as F.F.A. president.
In 1973 he took over the 4th generation family farm in the town of Easton where he raised his “first crop” family. He operated the farm until 1990, after which he moved to Mercer, where he raised his “second crop” of children. He used the skills that he learned from working at Wausau Tile prior to farming to start Dave’s Tile and Stone. For over 30 years, he ran a successful tile business throughout the Northwoods and became known as “The Tile Man.” He left his creative work in many homes and businesses across northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had several favorite spots that he shared with whoever was willing to go with him. He also greatly enjoyed volunteering and using his trade skills as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He shared his faith with countless people and worked on numerous Kingdom Hall projects across Wisconsin, the U.P. of Michigan, the country of Belize and various buildings at the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York.
Dave is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou (Bruce) Klug of Merrill, Donna Lindow of Chili, Nancy (Gary) Hansen of Independence, Va. and Lindy (Sherman) Roberts of Rhinelander.
He is also survived by his seven children, Tyler (Anna) Wolfe of Schofield, Melissa (Tim) Michealson of Chassel, Mich., Jennifer (Todd) Check of Mosinee, Logan (Rebecca) Wolfe of Richland, Wash., Micheal Wolfe of Isanti, Minn., Molly (Chris) Overberg of Marquette, Mich., Ian (Natalie) Wolfe of West Allis, as well as seven granddaughters and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held for David’s immediate family at Bolger Funeral Home in Woodruff on Oct. 23. Extended family and friends may attend via zoom, please email [email protected] to request the link. www.bolgerfuneral.com.
