James A. Konicke


James A. Konicke, 83, of Minocqua and formerly of Milwaukee, died unexpectedly on Sept. 29, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born on February 24, 1938, in Milwaukee, the son of Alois and Evelyn (nee Strzelec) Konicke. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He attended Pulaski High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Jim retired from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Justice Training and Standards Bureau in Madison. He was a proud member of the Leather Necks of the North Marine Corps. League. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilynn and son-in-law, Tom Patti. He is survived by his children, Sue Patti, Gregg (Carrie) Lindner, James J. Konicke and Julie (Michael Olp) Konicke; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Konicke, Kristopher Valters, Jason (Sarah) Patti, Ashton (Matt) Still and Cameron (fiancé Ariel) Lindner; three great-grandchildren, Nora, Jack and Jameson; brother, Donald (Mary) Konicke and special uncle to Kurt and Andy Konicke. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W Capitol Drive, Brookfield, with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Jim’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project. Semper Fidelis
