Louise L. Peterson, 100, of Lac du Flambeau, died on Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 18, 1921 to Anthony LaSota and Josephine Montriel in Belcourt, North Dakota. Louise went to grade school in Wahpeton, N.D. and high school in Flandreau. She met Charles C. Peterson after graduation. They married in St. Paul and then moved to Lac du Flambeau in 1938. Louise and Charles had eight children and lost one child at birth. Louise worked at Stimpson’s resort for summer employment and started to work at Simpson for 10 years. She worked at the grade school for 27 years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and traveling. Louise enjoyed being with family and friends and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Movin; daughters, Anita “Sister” Dionne, Roberta “Birdie” Wildcat and Brenda Jo Peterson; sons, Byron (Brenda Marie) and Bruce Peterson and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Louise is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles C. Peterson, Sr., infant son, Stanley Gene Peterson; son, Charles H. Peterson Jr.; daughter, Francine C. Peterson; grandson, Guy Wildcat; granddaughter, Josephine Peterson; great-great-grandson, Raymond Wildcat; brother, Francis LaSota and sister, Stella Fredricks. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Bolger Funeral Home – Woodruff Chapel, with a prayer service. A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau.
