Ervin Jay Bolks
Ervin was born in Allegan, Mich. on October 14, 1941 to parents Myron and Juella Bolks.
He grew up on the family farm in Dunningville, Mich., attended a one-room schoolhouse through 8th grade, and graduated from Allegan High School. He received his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1964, his CPA license and a MBA from University of Michigan in 1965. He began his career as an auditor in Chicago and continued financial work in Los Angeles and Minneapolis until retiring in Barrington, Ill. Erv loved traveling with Susan, working at his desk, talking on the phone with his grandchildren, attending their various activities and sporting events, eating breakfast at McDonalds, and watching the planes take off and land at the Lakeland Airport.
He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Betty Bolks, and parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan, daughters Heather Evenhouse (Charlie) and Cathy Muir (Bill) and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Woodruff. A light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the benevolence fund at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 9035 Blumenstein Road, Woodruff, WI 54568 or The Lakeland Pantry, 1707 US-51, Woodruff, WI 54568.
