Patricia T. Balistreri
Patricia (Patty) T. Balistreri (née Thompson), age 82, of Boulder Junction, was Born to Eternal Life, November 1st, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Patty was born on February 5, 1939 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Thayer) Thompson. Patty attended St. Monica’s grade school, Whitefish Bay High School, and the University of Wisconsin. She was a long time member of St. Eugene Parish in Fox Point and a current member of St. Anne’s Parish in Boulder Junction. She had many interests including hand painting porcelain, cooking, flower and vegetable gardening, skiing, fishing and bridge. She loved to golf and was a long time member of Ozaukee and Minocqua Country Clubs and Country Club of Naples in Florida. She was proud of her Irish and Norwegian heritage but most delighted to be a daughter of the Mayflower, a descendent of Henry Samson. Her greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by family and friends especially at her beautiful log cabin home on White Sand Lake where she loved to entertain. Patty is survived by her husband, Ted (Salvatore) of 56 years, along with her four children, Ted (Lisa) Balistreri, Margaret (John) Harris, Patrick (Lisa) Balistreri, Nick (Erin) Balistreri; her eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Joey, Dominic, Michael, Stephanie, Matthew, Andrew, Lexi, Fia, Josie, and Theo; her great-grandson, Leo; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. Family was Patty’s passion and pastime; she attended every event imaginable to support her family’s activities, and brought cheer and encouragement with her everywhere. Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Earl Thompson, her brother, Tim Thompson, and her sister, Mary Wabiszewski. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Nov. 5 at noon at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Boulder Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Anne’s Catholic Church, PO Box 110, Boulder Junction, Wisconsin 54512. Thank you to all her wonderful friends for their kindness and support during the past months. And, a special thanks to all of her health care providers at the Marshfield Clinic and Hospital in Minocqua and Compassus who were angels during our time of need.
