Linda Lorraine (Hampton) Witter, 79 of Presque Isle, beloved wife of Fredrick Witter, passed away on May 23 in Rhinelander. Linda was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A few days after her 16th birthday, she immigrated to the United States with her parents, Frederick & Lillian (Riley) Hampton. She married Fredrick G. Witter in Glenview, Illinois on October 6, 1962. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of three children: Jill (Paul) Weiss, Jacqueline (Chuck) Easley, and Todd (Sarah) Witter.
Linda was artistic and expressed her creativity by decorating and redecorating the homes she lived in. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and working on her almanac. Linda worked outside the home for several years as the administrative assistant for both St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago and Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction.
Linda was a kind, gentle friend to all who knew her. She possessed a quick wit and a contagious smile and laugh. Linda loved her pets very much and considered them her children, too.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by eight grandchildren: Candace, Brenna, Grace, Rachel, Sabrina, Liam, Lily, and Riley.
Visitation and reception was held on May 27th at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff.
