Christine was born July 31, 1961 in Grosse Pointe Mich., the daughter of Richard and Doris (Evans) Caretti. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Anne. She is survived by her husband Frederick (Rick) J. McCurdy. She is also survived by stepmother Penny, and her siblings Richard L, Judy (Patrick), Connie (Richard) and Joseph (Lisa), Step siblings Angie (Tom), Kim, Vince and 14 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Chrissy, as she is best known, was a graduate of Dominican High School in Detroit, Mich. and Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich. She had a successful and lengthy career in Financial Management.
Chrissy and Rick loved to entertain friends and relatives at their lake cottage in Minocqua, and their Gulf Coast condo in Fort Myers, Fla. An avid boater, Chrissy spent as much time as possible on the water whenever and wherever she could. She also loved to travel and spend time with friends and relatives. Her beautiful smile lit up a room and she believed there is no greater bond than family. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and especially her nieces and nephews meant the world to her and she always put their needs and concerns ahead of her own. She proved it with selfless acts of compassion in times of crisis. Chrissy will be dearly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 7 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Minocqua followed by a celebration of life involving family and close friends.
A Tribute Donation in memory of Christine McCurdy may be made in lieu of flowers to the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation (fcsf.org) or to St. Peters Catholic Church, Mt. Clemens, Mich.
