Laverne E. Poupart
Laverne worked at Simpson’s Electric for 20 years and for the Lac du Flambeau Public Grade School for 40 years. Ma loved to bake bread and we always teased her about them being like hockey pucks, but we sure chowed on them. Sometimes they burnt along with other food so along came her nickname “Laburnt.”
She is survived by her husband Thomas and children Scooter, Pam (Darwin), Daryl, Linda (Ralph), Joe and Scott and by 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren with one deceased grandchild and by her siblings Deanna LaBarge and Judy Birdsbill and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Spencer Smith Sr., her brothers Donald Smith, Spencer Smith Jr. and sisters Farrell LeGarde, Shirley Philemon and one son Donald D. Poupart.
Funeral Services took place at Nimsgern Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 27 with burial on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau.
Online condolences may be shared at www.nimsgernfuneral.com. Nimsgern Funeral & Cremation Services is serving the family.
