Ruthie was employed in the restaurant and hospitality business for the majority of her life. Ruthie was very passionate about being active in her community of Little Rice; including volunteering on the fire department and working the election polls. She loved the outdoors and wildlife. Ruthie’s favorite outdoor activity was fishing, especially trout fishing. Ruthie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Stacy “Stella” Whiteside, Tim (Renee) Whiteside and Kathy (Todd) Rebek and by her grandchildren Melissa (Alex) Beda, Addison Whiteside and step grandchildren Tyler and Hannah and by great grandson Lucas Todd Beda and by her siblings Annie (Alvin) Kleinschmidt, Ron (Terry) Wildman, Sue (Bruce) Rheinschmidt, Sally (Mel) Ireton, Mark (Barb) Whiteside and Sandy LeBlanc and by many nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and her Little Rice Fire Department family. Ruthie will be greatly missed by many.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Skip” Whiteside, her parents and her sister Rose Bork and other beloved family members.
Memorial Services for Ruthie will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 3 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff with a Memorial Gathering from 1 p.m. till time of service. Interment will take place at a later date at Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw.
The Whiteside family would like to send out an heartfelt thank you to the Emergency Room Staff at Marshfield Hospital in Minocqua, the staff at the Minocqua Health and Rehab Center and Compassus Hospice.
