Russel C. Ernst
He graduated at Lakeland Union High School class of 1980. He went to UW Stout and then attended North Central Technical College graduating with a degree in electronics. He was a former member of Min-Aqua Bats Ski Team where he did not just help put on the show skiing but was also active in many other aspects as a team member. His hobbies were building and racing remote controlled cars, boats, helicopter and planes. He loved spending quality time with his dog Sparky and grand puppy Harley. Russ loved collecting rare coins. He enjoyed doing outdoor activities such as camping, motorcycling, boating, cruising around with his collector vehicles. He loved to deer hunt. Most of all he was proud of his diving expertise. His last dive was in the Philippines in 2020.
Russell is survived by his wife Winnie Ernst, his three kids: Kimberly Ernst of Oak Park, Ill. and Kristen and Justin Ernst of Lake Tomahawk. Russ was a proud grandfather of Makayla Ernst Oak Park, Ill. His brother Rick Ernst of Presque Isle along with his niece and nephews Michael, Josh Ernst and Andrea (Ernst) Larson.
Russell is proceeded in death by his father Roger Ernst, Uncle Charles Heinrich, mother Dorothy Ernst and many other family members who are also truly missed.
Russ may be gone in our sight forever but he will be surely missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be on June 19 at 2 p.m. at Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services in Minocqua.
