Bruce R. Kuehl, Sr.

Bruce R. Kuehl, Sr., 91, of Lake Tomahawk died on Monday, July 26 at his home surrounded by family. Bruce was born on November 5, 1929 in Woodruff, the son of Theodore and Alma Kuehl. He served a term in the U.S. Army just after WWII. He then built and owned the current Shamrock Bar in Lake Tomahawk after the original log building burned in the mid-1950s. A majority of his career was spent driving semi-truck (mostly for the Red Owl food chain). In retirement he enjoyed living next to the Wisconsin River watching the wildlife. He loved his family, especially “the young ones” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bruce could tell a good story and had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed working on his cars and house and reading/watching cowboy stories.
He is survived by his children Bruce (Julie) Kuehl, Kelly (Ed) Kuehl-Brown, Craig (Laura) Kuehl and Michelle Komarek and by his grandchildren Megan Kuehl, Clay Kuehl, Kendra Kuehl, Briana Spencer, Bryce Kuehl and Blake Kuehl and by great grandchildren Devin Tietz, Juniper Spencer, Holly Spencer and Sirel Kuehl and by many nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Theodore Kuehl, Jr.
Cremation took place and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations Bruce would want everyone to spend their money on a good meal somewhere!
