Eva “Eve” M. Luy (nee Seymer) 93, of Minocqua passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in Tomahawk. In addition to her parents, Elsie and Louis Seymer, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Warren Luy. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jinny Steinbach. She grew up in Bay View and graduated from Bay View High School. She graduated from Milwaukee School of Nursing in 1949 as a Registered Nurse. She married Warren Luy in 1950 and lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She returned to Wisconsin in 1953 and lived in Menomonee Falls for 36 years until retirement to Minocqua. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Luy; her daughters Michelle (Todd) Krawczyk, Pamela (Joseph) Freking, Elizabeth (Michael) Steckbauer; her grandchildren Jack Luy, Sebastian Luy, Brett Krawczyk, Jaimee Barth, Michael Freking, Maria Nelson, Heather Richardson; and her great-grandchildren Aimee Zarder Krawczyk and Stephanie Barth; as well as nieces and friends. Eve enjoyed swimming, pontoon boat rides, her lake home, reading, baking, sewing, basket weaving/making, quilting, church activities, visiting family and friends, and traveling the United States including Alaska. She enjoyed flowers whether they were in her yard or gifts from family and friends. Her favorite season was Fall and her favorite holiday was Christmas. A celebration of her life and remembrance service will be held at the Church of the Pines, 415 Chippewa Street, Minocqua, WI 54548, on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. A private family funeral will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Arbor Vitae. Bolger Cremation & Funeral Services is assisting the family.
