Carl Joseph White, 70, a lifelong resident of Lac du Flambeau, passed away peacefully at his home on Big Crawling Stone Lake. He was born on October 20, 1951. Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for 38 years at the Lac du Flambeau fish hatchery, eventually becoming a manager. Carl lived a life dedicated to his wife, Shirley White, his family and his baby girl, Carrie (who called him her “Papa Pie”). He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Phyllis White; sister, Gwen White; brothers, Frank and George White and daughters, Carrie Semenok and Betsy Chapman. Carl is survived by his wife, Shirley White; daughters, Carrie Chapman and Andrea Wolfe; grandchildren, Ashley, Russell, Cade, Ashton, Mia, Carl Joseph and Nevaeh; siblings, LeRoy White, Gilbert White, Gerry White and Annette White and his loyal companion, Ace. Carl is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 30 at Bolger Funeral Home – Woodruff Chapel. A funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment with full military honors will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau. Dinner to follow at the Multi-Purpose building.
