Lil Wayne grew up in Lac du Flambeau, where he attended Lac du Flambeau Elementary School. He continued on to graduate high school at Lakeland Union High in 2000. In 2015, Wayne proudly graduated from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn. with a bachelor of science in criminal justice. He spent the remainder of his days in his hometown of Lac du Flambeau.
Lil Wayne was a source of positivity to us all and emitted a contagious energy. He could light up a room with just his presence, his wit and sense of humor. Anyone who knew Lil Wayne, knew that he was loving, caring, extremely funny but most importantly, committed to caring for his boys Ashton and Garan. He lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel, attend concerts, jam his tunes, hang out with his friends, and rage! Lil Wayne was more than just a beautiful human being. He was thoughtful and compassionate, unlike any other. We need more people like him in the world.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents James and Lila St. Germaine and maternal grandparents George W. and Mary Louise King. He is survived by his mother “his light” who he admired, adored and cherished, Beverly King, his loving father Wayne “Sharky” St. Germaine, Sr., sisters Shye St. Germaine, Lila St. Germaine, Kelli St. Germaine, nephews and nieces Aidan, Garan, Ashton, Natalie, William, Joelle, Aviana, Brevyn, Layla, Jacob, and Kylie. Further survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, all his Barbs, Judes, Tunas, Twighlas, Agies, Luannes, his fur baby Sugar, and last but not least, his best friend, his partner in crime, and “handsome babe” Elijah Mann.
Lil Wayne will be missed dearly. We long to have one more get together, one more conversation with all the “goss”, one more “Boozh Barb” text, and one more hug and a selfie with him. Gigawaabamin, my friend.
Please remember Lil Wayne as a caregiver, a loyal friend, a kind-hearted soul and celebrate his life, raising a glass of your favorite drink in his memory. Slores ... Rage on!
A visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the multi-purpose building in Lac du Flambeau. A ceremony, feast and final visitation was held on Wednesday Dec. 15.
