Paul spent two years in the US Army, stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of the American Legion Post 89 and spent 50 years on the Hazelhurst Fire Department.
Paul worked driving truck for Gustavson’s until he was employed by the town of Hazelhurst. He retired from there in 1996. He worked with his son Pauley for 16 years.
He loved to hunt and fish. He taught almost all of his grandchildren how to fish. He loved playing horseshoes; he and his son were quite the team. Paul loved to travel and see new places. He loved his gardening and had some of the most beautiful flowers. He really enjoyed his racing, whether it was going to stock car racing or to some NASCAR races.
Paul is survived by his children Paul (Cheri) Fuhrman, Debra (Mike) Clementi and Cindy (Mike) Stanley and by his grandchildren Jeremy Kroening, Natasha Kroening, Michelle Eanes, Michael Clementi, Salina Dobias and Brittney Dobias and by great-grandchildren Hunter, Leeann, and Luke Eanes, Penelope, Ada, and Vivian Kroening and Gabriel and Ivy Mueller. He is further survived by his siblings Shirley Johnson, Richard Fuhrman, Carol Cleveland, Edward Fuhrman and Patrick Fuhrman and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife Lillian and parents Edward and Augusta Fuhrman and by siblings Florence Benzschawel and Bonnie Haugen.
Memorial service for Paul will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Gathering from noon till time of service.
