Elaine T. Kotlarek, 92 of Woodruff passed away on Saturday, December 11 at Milestone Senior Living Center in Woodruff. Elaine was born on February 21, 1929 in Greenwood the daughter of Christ and Clara (Stiefvater) Scharenbrock. She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Milwaukee where she became a Registered Nurse on November 16, 1950. On May 30, 1953, Elaine married Clifford F. Kotlarek. They made their home in multiple places including Milwaukee and Mukwonago and after retirement, they moved to Woodruff where they enjoyed living in their condo. 
Elaine was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and attended bible study. She was a Secular Franciscan. Through her love of nature, she enjoyed bird watching, gardening, flowers, and was a member of the Audubon Society and Sierra Club. Elaine was an avid reader and enjoyed classical music. She also enjoyed poetry; she even had a poem published in the National Annual Anthology of High School Poetry. Elaine enjoyed spending time with family and her dear friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her sister Magdalyn Colli and by her many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, her parents Christ and Clara, and by her brother Richard Scharenbrock.
Upon her wishes cremation took place and a memorial mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff at a later date.
