Walter R. Semenok
Walter was born on Nov. 24, 1943 in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School.
Walter was part of the Army National Guard with the rank of SP-4.
Walter moved up to Winchester and called that home for nearly 60 years, working as a butcher for IGA.
Walter enjoyed hunting and fishing around the area and also enjoyed traveling and muscle cars.
Over the years, Walter belonged to organizations that were dear to his heart including the Hurley Masonic Lodge, Island City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriners.
He is honored with the title of Past Master as he was a Mason for over 60 years of his life.
Walter was preceded in death by his best friend Larry and dear friend Michael. Walter is survived by his friends Gloria, Michelle, Dave and Scott.
There are no services planned for Walter at this time but per his wishes, he will be laid to rest in the spring at the Winchester cemetery.
At Walter’s request, any memorials are to be directed to the Walter R. Semenok scholarship fund (Masonic) Island City Lodge.
