George A. White

George A. White, 57, Lac du Flambeau, died on Sunday, Nov. 28 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. 
George was born on Dec. 8, 1963, in Woodruff. 
He graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1982 and earned various law enforcement training certificates in the 1980s. He was a full-time outdoorsman and seasonal caretaker.
George was an enthusiastic patron of local taverns. 
He loved hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. 
George played many sports but his true passions were basketball and golf.
He is survived by his son, Michael Schuman Sr., grandson Matthew Schuman and by his siblings LeRoy White, Carl White, Gilbert White, Gerry White and Annette White and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces, nephews and especially the Big John family.
George was preceded in death by his parents Knute and Phyllis White, his sister Gwen White, brother Frank White and his grandson Michael Schuman, Jr.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Multi-Purpose Building in Lac du Flambeau.
A funeral mass will be held today, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church followed by burial at Memorial Cemetery.
