Marion A. Burmeister
As an adult she worked for many years as an interior decorator in the Milwaukee area. When she retired from the profession in 1975, she turned her energies towards her art, studying at the Peninsula Art School in Wisconsin, Eddison Community College and many workshops with noted artists. Her experience as a decorator is seen clearly in her carefully orchestrated compositions.
Marion paints in a style she terms romantic realism. Through the light application of clear, muted watercolors, she seeks to convey the essence and mood of her subject, whether a breezy seascape or quiet old house.
Marion has won numerous awards in juried shows and is represented in private and corporate collections around the country. Marion was a signature member of the Florida Watercolors Society and recipient of the Grumbacher Gold Medallion Award.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband George on December 27, 2011, her parents, daughter Cynthia, and all her siblings.
