Dr. Ronald C. Gresens

Dr. Ronald C. Gresens passed away July 30, after a long illness.  He was born to Dr. Werner and Esther Gresens in Chicago, Ill. on July 30, 1931. He attended Grace Lutheran School through 8th grade, Luther Institute, Western Michigan University and Loyal Dental School. He was very active in groups such as church, Lions, the Dental Society and various school groups.  He loved playing basketball and baseball.  He spent two years in active duty in the Navy and is a retired Naval Commander after 20 years of service. He was a dentist in Oak Park for forty years before retirement.
In 1960 he married the love of his life Belen (Wise) Gresens. He loved to travel, waterski, snow ski, snowmobile, tennis, kayak and everything outdoors. Ron won the 3-event state overall championship in water skiing. He was active as a boat driver, judge and scorer in 3 event, handicap and college water ski tournaments.  For the last 50 years, Ron and Belen spent there summers on Blue lake in Minocqua.
They had three children, Denise (Chuck) Hansen, Shari (Chuck) Crawley, and Scott (Veronica) Gresens. There are six grandchildren, Ronald, Stacey, Ashley, Brittney, Sophie and Julia.  There are six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to Grace Church – River Forest or the Rush Alzheimer’s Research – Chicago. 
Visitation will be at Zimmerman – Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison, Street, Forest Park, Ill. Wed Aug 4, from 4 to 7 p.m.
