Helen Marie Lesniak (nee Wuich), born Feb. 18, 1949, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. She is now in heaven with her dear late father, Louis Wuich and her Baba and Dede after a valiant struggle from cancer.
Beloved wife of Robert, dearest mother of Jean (Austin, Texas) and Steven (Chicago). Loving daughter and caretaker to her mother, Helen Cutich Wuich and the late Louis Wuich. Dear sister to Tom (Pam) Wuich, Gloria Chandler, Barbara (Nate) Robinson and John (Debbie) Wuich, sister-in-law to Leo (the late Mary), Dorothy (the late Danny) Drewno and the late Carol and many nieces and nephews. Fond niece to many aunts and uncles. She was a member of C.F.U. and The P.R.C.U.A.
Helen worked for State Farm Insurance in Chicago for many years before retiring to Arbor Vitae. She received her associate’s Degree from Wright Jr. College in Chicago.
Helen was an excellent knitter, taught by her Baba. She made many prayer shawls for cancer patients. She also was an avid Cubs fan and was interviewed on TV when the Cubs won the pennant.
Helen Marie and Bob had the chance to visit Poland, Croatia, Italy and the Czech Republic. They both loved to travel.
She was a great cook, gardener and a loving wife, mother, sister, niece and family was important to her. Helen was the glue that kept her family together — just like her beloved, Baba.
A Memorial Service is planned for June 2021.
Bolger Cremation & Funeral Services is assisting the family, www.bolgerfuneral.com.
