Calvin R. Sawyer
Cal married Diane Hromek-Sawyer on Nov. 27, 1992, she survives.
He was a member of the NRA, Fort Myers Power Squadron and America’s Boat Club and Lake Tomahawk Bible Church. Cal enjoyed deer hunting, grouse hunting, fishing, traveling in his RV from coast to coast, reading, going out for dinner; especially for raw oysters, having friends at home for dinners and just hanging out at his home.
He is survived by his wife Diane Hromek-Sawyer of Lake Tomahawk, and Cape Coral, Fla., and by four children Vicki (Dennis) Wissing of Shreveport, La.; Marilyn (Thomas) Straube of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; Merlyne (Banie) Sawyer of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Margaret Hughes of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and by five grandchildren Michael Wissing, Karen Wissing, Keith Trulove, Gary Sawyer and Elizabeth Rush and by nieces: Pamela (Jerry) Rome, Kathy (Paul) Herrick and Sharlene Spevack and by nephews Roy A. Hanna and Colin Hanna.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Murrel Sawyer and siblings Valeria Russon, Lotti Arnold and Loretta Copeland.
Visitation for Cal will be held on Friday, Oct. 9 at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. and Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at Lake Tomahawk Bible Church with visitation from 10 a.m. till time of service.
