Marguerite Emilie Nelson
Marge was born March 30, 1925 to Ernst and Hazel (Blencoe) Briner in Zurich, Switzerland, and moved to Wisconsin as an infant. She grew up in Milwaukee with her two sisters, the late Emily Reidelbach and the late Erna Mae Cina Eyers. She attended Rufus King High School. Marge worked at the Milwaukee Journal where she met Art, who she then married on Oct. 12, 1946. They lived in the greater Milwaukee area until August 2006 when they moved to Minocqua.
Marge worked as a waitress, and later at the X-ray department of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee. She retired from F. W. Woolworth where she worked in accounting. Marge enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends, raising cocker spaniel puppies, fishing, golfing, and taking car trips.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Country Terrace in Minocqua (and Molly) for Marge’s continued care and gentle compassionate support.
Marge is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Marge will be cremated and a private committal will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff or to a Hospice organization of one’s choice.
