LOLA Zombie Crawl on Oct. 28
On the day of the event, a free shuttle bus will carry participants to all nine local bars and restaurants participating in the crawl. The shuttle will run every 1/2 hour, starting at 5 p.m. from Club 45 in Conover, through spots in Land O' Lakes, all the way to Bent's Camp, and back. Shuttle will run until 11 p.m.
There are two ways to do the Zombie Crawl:
• Buy a ticket for $5 and get your Red Zombie Cup and Map of Deals to Die For. Zombie costumes are encouraged. Those not dressed up can still purchase a Red Zombie Cup and receive great deals on specialty and themed drinks, as well as appetizers and snacks at nine participating bars and restaurants.
• Upgrade to a Body Bag for $25 to get a Red Zombie Cup, Map of Deals to Die For, and get zombified. LOLA's artists will help those who purchase Body Bag upgrades to look extra scary with make-up and other costume extras on the day of the crawl. Also included in upgrade are goodies for the bus ride and a mini-bag for collecting "body parts" at participating businesses.
Zombies who return body parts to the LOLA office by Oct. 31 will be entered to win the grand zombie prize. All participants who purchase Body Bag Upgrades must make a zombification appointment by Saturday, Oct. 21 by calling the LOLA office at 715-547-3950. Zombification makeup, etc. will take place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Land O' Lakes Town Hall, at 4331 Highway B in Land O' Lakes. Head on up through Watersmeet to Paulding, Mich., and take your own self-guided tour to search for the legendary mysteriousPaulding Light. Featured on the History Channel and several supernatural investigation series, the Pauling Light is a moving light that is said to appear after dark. Some say it's the ghost of a railroad brakeman, a mail carrier, a Native American, or a father carrying a lantern searching for his son. Others say it is just car headlights in the distance or swamp gas. Look for the Paulding Light at the end of Robbins Pond Road.
