Funds raised at Dairy Queen go to Trees for Tomorrow scholarships
Trees For Tomorrow is an accredited nonprofit specialty school that instills the idea of managing natural resources for today and ensuring their sustainability into the future. Its campus has been located in the heart of Eagle River since 1944.
"Many thanks need to go the customers and staff of DQ," Eagle River DQ owner and operator Dan Anderson said. "Our donation was literally raised penny-by-penny over a year-and-a-half through the contribution of their change at the drive-through window."
DQ Eagle River has been supporting Trees For Tomorrow for over five years with the funds going to provide scholarships to area schools so all students are able to participate.
"We rely on the generous contributions of corporations to support ongoing natural resources education here," Trees For Tomorrow executive director Robin Ginner said. "Donations not only benefit TFT students but also strengthen the local community and develop strong environmental leaders."
"We love to get the packet of thank you letters from students who are able to attend TFT under a scholarship," added Anderson. "The appreciation of their experience is evident in their hand-written letters and drawings."
