Turtle program volunteers work to record, protect turtle species in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Turtle Conservation Program is a citizen-science based program from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) started in 2012. The goal of the program is to get a better understanding about the state’ turtle populations. Volunteers help to catalog distributions of various species, as well as to document high turtle mortality infrastructure locations such as road crossings.
