Rev. Timmerman's latest scribble-of-the-week ("Non-violence is the means to peace") is a real head-scratcher.
With a straight face (apparently) he defends and excuses Islamic terrorists for their slaughter of innocent men, women, and children for political and religious profit.
Then he closes by saying: "I believe, like Christ, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and others, that nonviolence, not violence, is our only hope for peace."
Say what?
I believe, like Christ, MLK, and others, that refraining from the random slaughter of innocents for political and religious gain would be a good start to a more peaceful world.
In the absence of Islamic fascists so refraining, I believe, like Christ, that "He who has no sword should sell his cloak and buy one," and, like Apostle Paul, that "a ruler does not bear his sword in vain, but to execute wrath on the wrongdoer."
