Michael W. Sabin, 73, of Minocqua, passed away at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020. He was born on May 19, 1946 in Illinois, the son of Daniel and Martha (Armitage) Sabin. Michael joined the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1966-1968. The Marines were very important to Michael. Michael worked in the accounting field for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid card player, especially enjoying Bridge. Michael played several days a week at various places in the Northwoods. He volunteered for many years at the Lakeland Food Pantry before his health prevented him. Michael loved spending time with his grandchildren, being outdoors in the Northwoods and of course, his dogs and cats. He enjoyed football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and reading about military history. Michael also amassed a large collection of movies and was a self-proclaimed movie buff.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie J. Bruns; two children Sara (Jay) Alger and Jennifer (Adam) Mrozek; five grandchildren, Ava, AJ, Avery, Abigail and Cassidy; three sisters, Susan (Tony) Servin, Patty Sabin and Janet Sabin; nephew, Dan Coeper; aunt, Carol Sabin and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Minocqua on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at 11 a.m., with a gathering one hour prior to the service at the church.
