Larry T. McCaughn, age 68 of Sayner, died on Thursday, Aug. 29 at his residence with his family by his side. Larry was born on Jan. 22, 1951 in Tomahawk, the son of Robert and Gladys (nee Olson) McCaughn. He graduated for Lakeland Union High School in 1969. Larry married Kathy Worthen on Oct. 2, 1982, she survives.

Larry worked at the Highway G Landfill as a heavy equipment operator and was past fire chief for the Plum Lake Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed traveling and especially loved telling hunting and fishing stories.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy and sons Wayne and Barry and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nephews and by many many special friends. He was preceded in death by his son Scott and parents Bob and Gladys and by his brothers Wayne and Teddy and his father and mother in law Wayne and Jeri Worthen.

Memorial Service for Larry were held on Monday, Sept. 2 at 3 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, with a gathering from 1 p.m. till time of service at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow.
