Jeanne L. (Boyle) McJoynt, age 84 of Boulder Junction, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 22, 2019 after a year-long struggle with ovarian cancer. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Tom, and is survived by her brother Terry (Sue) Boyle and her four children, Maggie (John) DeVoe, Kevin (Amy) McJoynt, Tim McJoynt and Kathy (Joe) McJoynt; and seven grandchildren, Keegan McJoynt, Tom, Matthew and Ellie McJoynt, Ryan, Molly and Johnny DeVoe, who all visited her just before her death for a fun weekend of memories and laughs. Jeanne was born in 1934 in Milwaukee, to Harold and Ruth Boyle, graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, and taught high school English for several years before marrying Tom and moving to New York City. Jeanne spent 15 years following Tom’s career moves all over the country and raising her family before going back to school, eventually graduating from University of Detroit law school and embarking on an exciting second career as a contract attorney for Motorola’s cellular infrastructure division. Jeanne was on the ground floor of cellular revolution and led contract negotiations with cellular carriers all over the world. Jeanne loved the peace and beauty of the Northwoods, but also yearned for adventures and traveled extensively with her family and friends, often on road trips with various maps, pets and coolers at hand. Jeanne stayed active even in retirement, splitting her time between homes in Salt Lake City and Boulder Junction as a board member of the Howard Young Foundation, an adjunct professor at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, a board member at Minocqua Country Club and a member of multiple book and bridge clubs in both locations. She leaves many bridge players now scrambling for partners. A celebration of Life will be held the evening of June 20, 2019 at the Minocqua Country Club in Minocqua.
