Jack Davies passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019 in Venice, Fla. He was 100 years old. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Joyce, his three sons, Charles (Suzanne) of Rye, New York; William of Evanston, Ill.; and John (Louise) of Aurora, Colo.; three step-daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His first wife, Betty, mother of his sons, predeceased him.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Jack attended Milwaukee University School, Georgetown University and later graduated Marquette University. Immediately after graduation in 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a pilot in the Pacific until the war’s completion in 1945 at the rank of lieutenant. He maintained a passion for aviation for his entire life.
After the war Jack worked in Milwaukee and would eventually open his own real estate business, which he continued to operate until late into his life.
An avid fisherman, bird watcher, and nature enthusiast, Jack and Joyce spent 20 years in northern Wisconsin before retiring in Florida.
Jack’s true love was his family and he would travel the states to attend all the milestones: swim meets, graduations and vacations. His love of the outdoors, music and the Green Bay Packers has been passed on to his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service, complete with military honors, occurred in Florida in July. The family will also honor Jack this summer in northern Wisconsin.
