Henry “Butch” St. Germaine “Negonosh,” 76, of Lac du Flambeau passed away at the St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield, on Sunday March 10, 2019.

He was born in Lac du Flambeau to Louis and Samantha St. Germaine on Aug. 26, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army and had a degree from MATC in welding. He was active in the Lac du Flambeau community. He was the manger of the LdF Fish Hatchery for 30 years, served as a tribal council member (1984-86; 2011-13), Tribal vice president (1988-1988-2000) and Tribal president (2000-04; 2014-16). He was a master welder, loved hunting, gambling, his family and was a mentor to many. He was preceded in death his parents and his siblings Louis St. Germaine, Annie St. Germaine, Steven St. Germaine, Joseph St. Germaine of Lac du Flambeau and his oldest son Henry “Butchie” St. Germaine Jr of Lac du Flambeau.

He will be missed by his wife Mildred, sons Louis (Esther) and Clancy (Theresa); daughters, Paula Jean St. Germaine, Tracy (Kyle) Daubon, Veronica St. Germaine and Ashley Isham. Grandchildren, Sunshine, Kiesha, Ariel, Victoria, Big Louis, Little Louis, Shanna, Cheyenne, Jake, Heather, Precious, Brandi, Jerome, Corey, Clanci, Siraelyn, Nolan, Kori, Wah’oney, Jolon, Jaylon, Havanna Rose; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Traditional Native American Services were held from Tuesday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 13 in Lac du Flambeau.
