Presque Isle will host the inaugural Presque Isle Youth Pond Hockey Tournament on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

It will be a round robin tournament with two divisions: Squirts and Peewees.  

Each team will play five 30 minute games consisting of two 15 minute periods.

Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners.

The format is three-on-three hockey with one rotating substitute for each team. There will be no goalies and checking will not be allowed, though full hockey gear is required. Penalty shots will be assessed for rule violations.

The tournament will be held on the town’s outdoor rink where there is also a warming hut with indoor restrooms and picnic tables.

Snacks, beer, wine, soda and water will be available on site plus coupons for specials at area restaurants.
